A core area of our business is carrying out upgrades, modifications
and refurbishment and repair of existing plant. We carry out many activities from brickwork
repairs, electrical work, relining of kilns to the complete removal,
refurbishment, relocation,
and reinstallation of kilns and associated equipment.
We have completed several kiln roof conversions whereby we have removed a brick arched roof and replaced it with a flat, lightweight ceramic fibre roof, thus increasing the setting height by up to 25% while increasing fuel efficiency.

Another major contract was to relocate and extend a large moving hood kiln for heavy clay pipes. At the same time this kiln was converted to a drive-in, fixed hearth kiln with a mechanical swing lift door. The kiln was split in two and a new section constructed in the centre. The extension increased setting area by 60%.
